Headed to Charlotte

I am so happy my Hokies brought home the Commonwealth Cup this Saturday! It almost seemed unfair with a 38-0 shutout against in-state rival UVA and what I would call total domination.

I watched the game with many other current and alumni Hokies at Baileys Pub in Ballston outside of DC before heading back to Tech. After much stress yesterday we secured our tickets and hotel to the ACC Championships in Charlotte. It will be a much anticipated rematch of our family rivalry with my younger sister being a tiger.

I went last year and it was an absolute blast. We are talking the most epic tailgate ever (smoke machine, 4 flat screens, dance party/DJ, great friends), a big win against Florida State, late night IHOP trip, and roadtripping with my favorite girls. Let's just hope this year I don't get rear ended by a Floridian in the snow!

What I am Loving Wednesday - Thanksgiving

Whenever I am at home, I eat way too well and way too much. But I am so excited my family is all back together (although its gonna get a little crazy) for Thanksgiving. It's gonna be a little different Thanksgiving this year, we are celebrating in a suite in Baltimore for the Ravens game!

Here is what I am loving for this Thanksgiving...

In other news, I snagged the cutest Vineyard Vines Santa boxers and this Columbia PFG in Oceanic Gingham at Marshall's yesterday. I have never worn PFG before but I think I will try to rock it for Spring Break! How do you all wear PFG's?

Update

I am back home for Thanksgiving break this entire week, which I love. The weather has been kinda gross, so I have been catching up on some R&R time!

Last Saturday was our Semi-Formals and our last date function of the year!

We got these "Southern Tide" shirts for the occasion (even cuter in person)!

Maryland girls at the pregame!

Awkward family photo for ya.

Family, can't believe I will be Great Grand Big soon!

I finished up all my work for the school week and had two delicious Thanksgiving dinners. We also went out Tuesday night for Kristen's 22nd!

Thursday was a day of such mixed emotions, my last home game as an undergrad. When you live in Blacksburg, football is life and I am so happy we beat UNC, but so sad I have to say goodbye, for now, to beautiful Lane Stadium aka best college stadium in the nation. Now I just want to beat in-state rival UVA and make our way to Charlotte for ACC Champs.

Tailgating before the game!

Snuggled by the fire, it was cold!

Sunday I went to the Ravens game and Monday I headed into DC for the Capitals game. Hopefully I will get some pre-Thanksgiving shopping in today and score some Christmas presents!

It's Official!

I am so excited to announce I accepted a job offer with Altria Client Services in Richmond, VA!

I could not be any happier with my decision. It was only a matter of time until I made it official, since I had the offer since August (but decided to be prudent and interview elsewhere first). I loved interning with Altria this summer, and I fell like both the company and the town are a great fit for me. I love my intern and subsequent new hire class, as well as all the people there!

I believe Richmond is the perfect city for me! It has the southern charm, small town in a city feel, great shopping, no traffic, and friendly people. It is a perfect location, close to DC (where my parents live), my River house, the beach, the mountains and of course, Virginia Tech!

And a huge plus is almost all of my extended family lives in Richmond and I am so happy I will be able to see them more than once or twice a year. And as the oldest cousin, I will be able to see all my little ones grow up!

Cousins from Mom's side

I will be moving and start working in Summer 2012. I have yet to find a place to live and roomie but am hoping to live downtown in The Fan or Museum District areas and will be working in the Innsbrook/Short Pump area for any Richmonders!

Can I move here please?

I am so ready to move to Richmond and be an official Virginia resident again!

The Hunger Games

If you have not yet read The Hunger Games trilogy, you must read it now!

While I originally didn't think I would enjoy a Sci-Fi type novel, I absolutely loved it! It is an easy read that keeps you guessing and turning the page for more and more. It follows a young girl in Panem, a post-apocalyptic country divided into districts,  who must fight to the death against other tributes for entertainment. I recommended it to two friends and they now can't put it down either!

So excited for the movie in March 2012!

About Me

I have seen a few of my favorite bloggers share some fun facts about themselves and I thought I would join in!

If ...

I could live anywhere in the US... Richmond, VA or Charlotte, NC. I cannot imagine not living on the East Coast and by some body of water. Plus I want the southern living with the seasons!

Richmond, VA Monument Ave

I were to have more children ... I do not have children, nor do I intend to have children for a long time but I would like to have three children, just like my sisters and I.

I could have any talent in the world ... the ability to make anyone feel special. Our recent Homecoming King has this trait, can talk to everyone and anyone and put a smile on their face, I want that!

I went back to school... I am currently a senior at Virginia Tech graduating in May 2012 with a job. I never thought I would have the opportunity to go to grad school (may parents are already paying out-of-state tuition) but it might be in the future thanks to my job!

You met me in real life... I hope you would like me! It takes a little for me to warm up to new people, but once you know me I will talk your ear off! I love to have fun, can get a little crazy, and can be quite opinionated. But I stand for what I believe and try to love life!

Money were not an object.... I would travel to my heart desire. I originally started this blog to chronicle my study abroad trip to Spain. I have been all over the Caribbean, to Germany, France and Rome and want to travel much more! And of course along with traveling I would have to indulge in all the food and shopping each location had to offer!

I could choose an animal/pet... I would choose an independent, small dog. I am not necessarily an animal person but I love playing with my family's dog.

I could meet one celebrity... Currently I really want to meet Miranda Lambert! I love her music and feel like she is such a real person and true to herself!

If I could go on a trip right now .... I am itching to be by the water. I would love to be on a lake surrounded by mountains where I could lay out, go boating, indulge in a spa and some delicious seafood!

I had to choose between a house cleaner and a personal chef ... such a hard decision but probably a house cleaner because I would much rather cook than clean! After living in my apartment this year, I have much more appreciation for cleanliness!

I could only shop at one store for the rest of my life ... I would probably choose GAP stores (i.e. Gap, Banana Republic, and Old Navy). I know that's three but they are all under Gap right? My wardrobe is manily Gap and Banana Republic and they have every kind of clothes you could ever need, work, casual, dressy, etc.

Miranda Lambert

I am so excited to make a trip into town to pick up Miranda's new CD "Four the Record." I love her past  albums and love her current single "Baggage Claim."

I would love to meet Miranda because I feel she is so down to earth, yet has a little edge to her. She is true to herself and says what she thinks!

Hopefully, I will be able to see her in concert in January in Charlottesville! Cross your fingers for me!
