Update

I am a horrible blogger. But real life has caught up with me and I had to take a break from my regularly scheduled activities to put my life in order. Here is a little update on what I have been up to since I have been gone, bare with me!

I left my college town for a whole week (Thursday to Thursday) for a little interview "tour" across VA. I had interviews in Tysons Corner (stayed in The Ritz-Carlton, nice!), Richmond, then Herndon, VA. The weekend in between I was able to visit home and go to Baltimore for a Ravens game.

When I returned to Blacksburg, I quickly unpacked, changed and met some girlfriends for Happy Hour. After we headed to our favorite watering hole for our favorite DJ/dancing night!

Saturday we had our Homecoming Game against Boston College. Although I missed all the Homecoming festivities during the week, I was so excited to see our Homecoming candidate Kelsey take the field and make us all so proud to be part of an amazing organization!

Walking to the game with some of my sisters!

Little tailgate photo shoot!

Sisters at the game with fabulous alumni!

After the game we grabbed some dinner on campus before heading to the bar to celebrate our win!

Love all the alumni back in town!

Kappa sisters (we clearly love rails)

The rest of the week consisted of studying my butt off! After missing over a week of classes I was really behind, not to mention 3 tests the following week.

Sinkland Farms

This past Sunday was an absolutely beautiful Fall day, so my friends and I thought what better to do than go to the pumpkin patch! About 15 minute drive through the picturesque mountains is Sinkland Farms. They had so many fun fall activities including a corn maze, farm animals, craft booth, food, hay ride, and of course a pumpkin patch!

We love John Deere

Not ready, but loving life

They even had a crazy pumpkin launcher, it went so far!

We found our pumpkins!

My friend snapped this of me!

Being silly in the pumpkin patch!

Kindle Family

I am so excited about the new Kindle Family! They are introducing a touch screen option, as well as a full color, movies, music and more with the Fire. Plus the prices can NOT be beat!
The all-new Kindle Family, from $79

I received the Kindle Keyboard (below) as a gift from my internship and have started using it after I bought "The Hunger Games" (sooo good!). I love the kindle because it still reads like a book with the e ink. Also, it is so lightweight allowing me to easily read it at the gym and carry it with me where ever I go!

Who else loves the Kindle? Are you thinking of getting any of the new family of Kindles?

Weekend Update

This weekend was so much fun! I am truly exhausted and looking forward to an easier week and a weekend at home!

Thursday after the craziness of my school/interview week I came home, napped, and made a delicious dinner of stuffed shells.

Then some friends went to our favorite happy hour spot, Hokie House, before making our way downtown to our favorite bar which had dancing and a DJ!

Friday was the last day of my sorority's philanthropy, Kappa Kaddyshack (which supports our national philanthropy Reading Is Fundamental), the golfing portion. I helped coach a team and cheered them on through all the holes. Later my roomies and I went to our friends for a barbecue before I turned in early.

Saturday was Gameday in Blacksburg and my dad and family friends came to town. We beat Miami in a fourth quarter nail bitter, and the last five minutes were absolutely devastating, nerve-racking, exciting, and joyous! After we had dinner and I joined my fellow Hokies downtown in Blacksburg.

What I am Loving Wednesday - Disney Movies

Although I have yet to see Lion King in 3D (and sadly probably won't have time), my roommate ran to Walmart yesterday and picked up the DVD. I can't wait to watch it and sing all the songs ... you know Hakuna Matata, Circle of Life, I Just Can't Wait to Be King, etc. Plus Aladdin was on ABC Family the other night, LOVE!

Well, my Disney obsessed friend told me about Disney re-releasing more movies after Lion King's success. Beauty and the Beast is set to be released in January 2012, then Finding Nemo in September 2012.

Monster's Inc. in 2013 before the release of the prequel Monster's University Summer 2013. And finally, everyone's favorite Mermaid, Ariel comes in Fall 2013.

I am so excited to see all of these great Disney Classics and new Pixar favorites!

Panera Loving

I have been posting up recently at Panera to get my study on. While most people choose to study at the Library or the Empo (our huge computer lab), those places can easily suck the life out of you. And I need a break from florescent lighting and boring backdrops. Panera is the perfect place to study with comfortable seating, WIFI, outlets, windows, elevator music, and comforting food.

Along with the perfect study atmosphere comes my newfound discovery, the My Panera Card. Just for signing up I got a free dessert and have already racked up a free coffee or smoothie! Not to mention they give you plenty of time to redeem your reward!

Does anyone else use My Panera? What other rewards cards are worth trying?

Family in Blacksburg

I am exhausted after this weekend! And the beginning of this week is crazy also, 2 tests and 2 interviews over 3 days! Although my Hokies lost (horribly I might add, it is after all a "rebuilding"" year), I had a great time seeing my family.

We started tailgating around 1 for the 6 pm game, and my Dad grilled up Italian sausages, chorizo, hot dogs and hamburgers along with the typical tailgate fare of snacks and lots of beer. My Clemson sister came on the first cold day (40 degree weather) and could not stand it. Some of my sorority sisters and friends stopped by for some grub before walking over to the game.

It was a great weekend overall and I ate way too much! Can't wait for another home game this weekend!

Maroon Effect - Clemson

I am so excited my entire family is in Blacksburg for the Maroon Effect Game today against my sister's school Clemson. Both the Hokies and Tigers are 4-0 and I want nothing more than to embarrass the Tigers!

We have beat Clemson pretty soundly in the last 5 meetings, but now that they have beaten two big teams the past weeks (Auburn and Florida State) everyone is waiting for another defeat! Can't wait for Lane Stadium to be crazy loud ... Let's Go Hokies!

Here are the Maroon Effect 2011 shirts made by my fabulous sorority sister Kelsey!

This video shows my Hokies vs. Clemson at their best!

On a side note, my school is crazy! I love how diverse we are and all the fun things you can do/get involved in on campus. The latest craze ... Real Life Angry Birds!
